The Rule is Here
On September 10, 2025, the Department of Defense officially published the CMMC Final Rule into DFARS. This marks a turning point for the Defense Industrial Base (DIB): cybersecurity maturity requirements are no longer guidelines — they are now contractual obligations.
The rule becomes effective in mid-November 2025 (60 days after publication). From that point forward, CMMC compliance will be phased directly into DoD contracts.
Key Timeline Highlights
To understand the path ahead, here’s a snapshot of the rollout:
- Q4 2025 → CMMC Final Rule becomes effective. Level 1 and Level 2 self-assessments required at award.
- 2026 → DoD begins requiring more third-party assessments (C3PAO) for Level 2 contracts.
- 2027 → Level 3 (DIBCAC) assessments begin for select high-priority contracts.
- 2028 → Full CMMC rollout across the DIB.
Why This Matters
CMMC isn’t just another box to check. If your company handles Federal Contract Information (FCI) or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), your ability to win and keep DoD contracts depends on compliance.
Contractors who wait or take a piecemeal approach risk:
- Being ineligible for upcoming solicitations
- Scrambling to implement 110 controls under tight deadlines
- Losing credibility with primes and partners
The Tesseract Approach: Compliance Without Compromise
At Ardalyst, we’ve seen too many companies waste time and budget on partial solutions that don’t get them across the finish line.
Tesseract is different.
Instead of fragmented tools or limited audits, Tesseract delivers a comprehensive cybersecurity program that:
- Implements all 110 security controls required for CMMC Level 2
- Leverages Microsoft’s secure government platforms
- Provides continuous monitoring and compliance support
- Scales with your business, without locking you into costly, unnecessary extras
With Tesseract, you move straight into compliance — not just checking requirements but building a resilient program that supports your mission.
Why You Should Act Now
